Regional Managing Director, South Africa
Emily is the Regional Managing Director for Africa at Duke Corporate Education – leading the firm’s portfolio across the continent and partnering with organisations to design and deliver strategic leadership and customised capability-building solutions.
Originally from the UK – and a graduate of Oxford University – Emily has called South Africa home for more than a decade. Before joining Duke CE, she spent over 14 years at Bain & Company as a strategy consultant, specialising in large-scale business strategy and transformation within the firm’s Business Transformation Practice. She began her career in the UK before moving to Africa – delivering more than 35 projects across major markets. Her industry experience spans telecommunications, retail, FMCG, and mining/industrials – with a focus on unlocking growth, navigating complex change, and building long-term organisational capability.
Emily is passionate about leadership development and high-performing teams. She co-founded the “Africa Bain Academy” for executives, established multiple Transformation Offices, and led Bain Africa’s Women@Bain initiative for five years – increasing female leadership representation to 50%. She is dedicated to inclusive leadership and advancing Africa’s leadership capacity, combining strategic thinking with hands-on experience to deliver lasting impact.
A former competitive rower, turned Ironman, Emily brings the discipline, resilience, and teamwork she developed through sport to her work, believing that trust, shared goals, and strong teams are key to successful transformation.
Outside of work Emily is a proud mum of two wonderful kids, a (slow!) long-distance trail runner, and a lover of good food shared with family and friends.
